Ecowiser helps consumer brands organise sustainability evidence, improve claim accuracy and communicate supportable proof through Prove, Communicate and Grow.
It is Ecowiser’s draft framework for scoping claims, reviewing evidence and recording limitations. Version 1.0 remains under governance review and has no effective date.
No. Ecowiser does not currently offer accredited certification, statutory approval or regulatory verification through this methodology. A scoped evidence review is not proof that a whole brand or product is sustainable.
Not under the current draft methodology. Ecowiser can review submitted and public records and describe the resulting evidence basis and limitations. “Independent verification” will be used only if an appropriately independent verifier and governance structure are in place.
A written engagement may define a product, range, material, package, facility, supplier programme, company operation or individual claim. The boundary must be agreed before substantive review.
Depending on the claim, records may include certifications, transaction records, bills of materials, tests, audits, traceability records, studies, calculations and implementation records.
No. Paid work can conclude that evidence supports a narrow claim, requires qualification, is incomplete, is insufficient or conflicts with the proposed wording.
Yes. Communication or promotional services cannot improve the quality or status of the evidence.
Under the draft methodology, it would mean the reviewed evidence supports the precise wording, scope, period and qualifications recorded. It would not mean the entire product or company has no negative impacts.
The draft proposes a maximum 12-month review period or the earliest important evidence expiry. This is not yet an effective scheme rule. Product, supplier, claim, evidence or legal changes may require earlier reassessment.
Confidential documents should not be published without permission. Any agreed public summary should explain the evidence basis and limitations without exposing protected information.
The draft governance model proposes a reasoned challenge route using new evidence or a dispute about how the methodology was applied. A formal appeals process is not yet in effect.
No. Ecowiser can organise evidence and flag wording that may need specialist attention. Brands remain responsible for legal advice and compliance.
Assessment, consulting, affiliate and sponsored relationships should be disclosed clearly and kept separate from evidence conclusions.
Start with the Evidence Fit Review to define non-confidential claim, market and evidence context. Any substantive work begins only under a written scope.
